Springfield Royal Country Club Description:A Jack Nicklaus design, and is a favourite, with both Golfing Holiday Makers and Locals
A traditional Jack Nicklaus design, Springfield Royal Country Club is located off the Hua Hin bypass road, and is regarded as is one of the best Golf Courses in Hua Hin
The course has been designed to meet, both the high demands of a recognized championship golf course, but also remains a an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all handicaps. Every hole has a minimum of five tees to play from, but the brave, or fool hardy, or those who regularly brush shoulders with the world's best golfers, will play from the Black Tee locations. Water hazards will come into play, and each of the holes presents its own challenge and character requiring finesse and good course management. Accuracy is always needed, as the rough has a series of hillocks and the holes are lined by a forest of mature trees, all around.
The Design Team ,have tried to catch the player out who hits a poor weak fade, and the back nine when tiredness begins to entre both the body and mind, can be punishing, with either a massive waste bunker, and the water down the right-hand side of the fairways. If you can keep it straight, this course will reward you, with some pleasant scores on your card.
The first hole is a gentle 389-yard par 4. The first appearance it looks quite easy. These hopes can quickly disappear, as the well-protected green can prove difficult & requires accuracy. The finishing whole, the par-5 18th, Springfield's signature hole, one last perfect shot to an unforgiving island green. The green is reachable in two by longer hitters out there, but do not drawn into this trap, the second shot is longer than most people think. Hit a good drive over the trees off, to the dogleg left, and then the green will be in sight for the second shot. Have a go but use caution; this shot is longer than it looks, and many a good looking second shot has ended in the water
Springfield opened added a new nine hole (Course C) for play in 2005 which was designed by the award-winning golf course architects Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley. These nine holes complement the original Jack Nicklaus 18 Holes on the Main Course A & B, but these 9 holes and are even more challenging than the original 18.
The clubhouse, offers, merchandise sales, and golf club rental, all good quality. The Pro-Shop is in the elevated position of the building and the views from the top floor leave a long-lasting impression. The interior is mostly finished in polished marble & granite and portrays a feeling of opulence. Changing rooms even feature a bar inside the locker rooms. The experienced caddies, who are also well trained, add to the enjoyment of playing at Springfield.
